Details

In 1754, John Phillips, a master carpenter, took a lease of part of Hay Hill Farm and built his workshop at the corner of Charles Street and Waverton Street and erected also much of the surrounding property. When this picture was drawn in 1938, the premises was a furniture workshop. Below is an antique shop and above are residential quarters.
