Description | Origin Species, CH Bennett, Crook - bear |
Details |
'The origin of Garotte'. Satire on Darwin's 'Origin of Species' showing the evolution of a crook, from a bear. A crook stands waiting to ask the time from prospective victims, bludgeon at hand. Evolution takes a hand and he is transformed into a chained, dancing bear equally keen to squeeze the living daylights out of people who get too close. In turn the padlock evolves back into the crooks timepiece.
