Description | Origin Species, CH Bennett, husband hunter - mouse |
Details |
Little Mousey'. Satire on Darwin's 'Origin of Species' showing the evolution of a young woman on the look out for a husband, from a mouse. Young women who wear crinoline, under the pretense of looking out for a husband, are (apparently) really seeking the provisions and comforts of a good home - a quiet little cheese to nibble at. As she sits quietly, fan in hand, her dress is transformed into a large cheese, while the quiet little creature herself evolves into a mouse, that eats the cheese.
