Description | Origin Species, CH Bennett, Quiet man - lamb |
Details |
'As quiet as a lamb'. Satire on Darwin's 'Origin of Species' showing the evolution of a quiet young man, from a lamb. Dressed in a long tailed coat and being under the impression that he would pass for a riotous young blade, but alas still with his grandmother, concealed within his gingham umbrella. Lambs that wander from their own pasture provide sport to those whose habits they imitate, such is represented by evolution of the shuttlecock and battledores.
