The British magician William S Marriott demonstrates how spiritualists may create the illusion of spirit hands at a seance. The dummy hands are painted with luminous paint and fixed on a framework, passed to the subject after he has been bound. In a darkened room the effect is of disembodied hands seemingly grabbing the medium, as may be seen in picture 10018736.~~~~
