An illustration, by Peroud, originally drawn for The Tatler's counterpart, Eve - The Lady's Pictorial. Special artists were engaged in Paris and advance models of designs were sketched in the salons of famous couturiers such as Poiret, Lucien Lelong, Madeleine and Madeleine, Charlotte, Martial et Armand etc. Left to right is a three quarter coat of light material over an afternoon frock of black taffeta, with hat to match; jumper frock of mauve crepe marocain with touches of black, and loose transparent sleeves of ninon; grey taffetas embroidered with rosebuds; brown glace frock with an old-world air and flounces; a tailor-made suit of blue rep; and a straight up and down gown of black wool marocain.
