Description Patent Reversible Lifeboat, 1875.

Engraving of a patent reversible lifeboat for ships, designed by Anderson and Burkinshaw of Bridlington Quay, 1875. The lifeboat could be used either way up and derived its buoyancy from two large pieces of cork and 40 air-tight tanks.
