Mr. Peabody's dwellings for the industrious poor on the corner of Commercial and White Lion Streets in Spitalfields, London. These contained shops with dwellings and stores attached. Access to the dwellings was entirely separate from the shops. The top floor had laundries, baths and areas for drying clothes. The dwellings consisted of one, two and three rooms situated on each side of a wide and well-ventilated corridor. They were supplied with large well-lit cupboards, cooking range, oven, boiler, hot plate and lavatories were provided on each floor. Dust shafts were also included in the design of the building.
