A page from the Illustrated London News showing the kind of Romanian people purported to be involved in the peasants' revolt which began in March 1907 and resulted in the deaths of many thousands of people after the army was called in to restore order. Included are a couple in the gardens at Bucharest; a scene of grape-gathering at Scaeni; a Romanian priest and his wife; a bullock-wagon; a bride and bridegroom; bridesmaids; and gypsy women masons smoking.
