Double page spread from The Sketch showing portraits of peers of the realm who had joined up during the early weeks of the First World War. They include Lord Belper, the Earl of Minto, Lord Garlies, Lord Innes-Ker, Lord Clive, Lord Chesham, Lord Carnegie, Lord Petre and Lord Wellesley. Notable are Lord Charles Carnegie, who married Princess Maud of Fife in 1923, and Lord Petre, who died of wounds received at the Battle of Arras in 1915.
