The people's fete held at the fort in Old Delhi, in honour of New Delhi (inaugurated in February 1931). The Viceroy, Lord Irwin and Lady Irwin (on the projecting balcony seen in the left centre) watching from Shah Jehan's battlements, built in the 17th century, a picturesque 'pageant' of Indian transport.
