Perchten-mumming, a custom of the Austrian Salzkammergut. Mummers representing death, devils, strange beasts and monsters, the good bishop Nicholas, the Christmas angel and other figures, parade on St. Nicholas Day (6th December). The march through the village scaring the naughty children and rewarding those that have been good.
