Members of the Phoenix Club including, front row, second from right, the Hon. Denys Finch-Hatton,(1887 - 1931), later a big game hunter and lover of Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen) immortalised in her novel, Out of Africa. Denys attended Brasenose College, Oxford, where, as a member of the Phoenix Club, he is described as 'of golfing renown'.
