During the Second World War many houses were destroyed during the bombing over Britain. Aluminium prefabricated houses (prefabs) were built by Britain's Aircraft industry, to help with the housing shortage. This provided quick and cheap quality homes with with all the amenities, central heating, bedrooms, living-rooms, modern kitchens and bathrooms.
