Description Prince Edward of Wales at the front
Details

During World War One, Prince Edward of Wales, (future Edward VIII) and then Duke of Windsor, was in Grenadier Guards. He would be at the front for months at a time, been kept safe out of the firing line, publications regarding his movements were kept quiet. Shown here, arriving in London, with depatches from Sir John French to the War Office.
