Prince Edward of Wales (future Edward VIII) among the pilgrims: the great ceremony of rememberance at the Menin Gate, Ypres. The Prince lead 11,000 British Legion war pilgrims, and is pictured here waering war medals, and accompanied by Prince Charles of Belgium(1903-1983) in the procession to the Menin Gate.Later, Edward would become Duke of Windsor (1894 – 1972), King of the United Kingdom, until his abdication one year later, to marry Wallis Simpson.
