Prince George, Duke of Kent (1902-1942), fourth son and fifth child of King George V and Queen Mary. He died in a military air crash on 25 August 1942, which marked the first death of a member of the Royal Family on active service for 500 years. Photograph showing him with his eldest son, Prince Edward (later Duke of Kent).
