Details |
The Prince of Wales at the British Legion's annual conference at the Queen's Hall. He addressed delegates from over 4000 branches of the British Legion and suggested that a visit should be made to Germany by representative members of the Legion: "I feel there could be no more suitable body or organisation of men to stretch forth the hand of friendship to the Germans than we ex-servicemen who fought them in the Great War and have now forgotten all about that".
