A photograph of Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII and then Duke of Windsor) pictured looking rather nervous having joined the Grenadier Guards on the outbreak of war in 1914. The Tatler prints the photograph as an example to all young unmarried men of the Empire and says, 'The Prince has done his duty. Now readers who can spare something, it is up to you to do yours.'
