Description Prince of Wales, World War One
Details

Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII, then Duke of Windsor (1894 - 1972). Directly after World War One broke out the Prince of Wales begged to be allowed to go to France, and before the end of 1914 he got his way. A prominent Labour leader of the time has told how the Prince "caused his military superiors not a little anxiety by reason of the personal risks he ran from time to time."
