Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II, as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. Her first formal engagement was on her 16th birthday, inspecting the Grenadier Guards as Colonel of this regiment. She wears their regimental cipher as a brooch, and their badge on her hat.
