Queen Elizabeth II, then Princess Elizabeth, in a specially designed uniform as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards on horseback at the Trooping of the Colour ceremony in June 1947, the first time it had taken place in seven years. She wore a specially designed habit and dark blue jacket with brass button, and peaked cap bearing the badge of her regiment.
