Queen Elizabeth II being greeted on arrival at Westminster Abbey, when she distributed the Royal Maundy money. In the year of this picture, 1952, 26 elderly men and women-once for each year of the sovereign's age-will recieve the silver pence, specially struck at the Royal Mint in leather purses. The coins still bear the impression of the head of King George VI.
