Princess Mary (1897 - 1965), third child and only daughter of George V and Queen Mary at the age of thirteen. Born at Sandringham, she inherited the title of Princess Royal after the death of her aunt Princess Louise in 1931. She trained as a nurse in 1918 and worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She also took an active interest in the Girl Guide movement, the VAD's and the 'Land Girls'. She married Henry, Viscount Lascelles in 1922 and had two sons.
