Description | Professors Ayrton and Perry's new electric railway 1882 |
Details |
A model of a electrical railway designed by Professors Ayrton and Perry. There were a number of dynamo-electric machines in the experimental stages, however the problem lay in the efficency of electrical usage. Ayrton and Perry invented a well insulated cable that ran along side the railway track, instead of directly through the track.
