Queen Elizabeth II, with the Duke of Edinburgh at her side, opens Canadian parliament in Ottawa. She is reading the speech from the throne, and is watched in the foreground by federal judges. Her Majesty is wearing her Coronation gown with A sash of the Order of the Garter. The State opening of Parliament was one of the most outstanding occasions during the Queen's four day residence in the Canadian capital.
