Queen Marie of Romania (1875 - 1938), the consort of King Ferdinand I of Romania. Daughter of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh and therefore a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Marie's penchant for drama and flamboyant dress is reflected in this portrait in which she poses on two tiger skin rugs.
