(James) Ramsay MacDonald (1866 - 1937), Scottish Labour Statesman, pictured making a radio broadcast on 7th October 1931. During the broadcast he signalled the start of a General Election, which was in part caused by a British financial crisis. Following the General Election of 1924 MacDonald was the first Labour MP to become British Prime Minister.
