Women of the Red Cross delivering bread and other comforts to soldiers of the French Army as they travel to the Front via train. As well as bread, comestibles such as butter, coffee, chocolate, confectionery, cheese, milk and tea were delivered through train carriage windows, as well as tobacco, pipes, cigarettes, postcards, pencils, socks and hankerchiefs.
