Repeal of the Corn Tax, 1846. When the high price of bread could no longer be borne, the Government took off the duty on corn! A newspaper boy runs to a baker's shop with the news, 'Penny Buns for Everybody', but the baker doesn't seem to be very pleased. The shop window is well stocked with plum cake, buns and loaves.
