The rescue of Zaidi from the top of a waterfall during Sir Henry Morton Stanley's Anglo-American expedition of 1874-1877. Zaidi (centre, crouching) had taken a canoe too close to the waterfall and was stuck in a very perilous position. Stanley (centre with stick) can be seen directing the rescue operation.
