Description Roman pavement in Cannon Street
Details

A Roman tesselated pavement discovered by workmen at a depth of 12 feet from the surface. The pavement, made up of tiles of red tesserae was without pattern. A vault destroyed by the building works still contained fragments of Samian red pottery.
