'Hyde Park re-echoes the war note in every corner. Rotten Row is crowded with khaki, and squads of recruits decorate the open spaces.' Cartoon by Fish in Letters of Eve in The Tatler showing how Rotten Row, the traditional magnet for society during the Season, is transformed during World War One, as soldiers on leave or convalescing stroll there and recruits are drilled in the park's open spaces.
