Description | Rowlands' Kalydor advertisement, 1887 |
Details |
An advertisement for Rowlands' Kalydor-a most refreshing and emollient preparation for preserving and beautifying the skin. The advert is accompanied by an rather fanciful depiction of a clear-skinned beauty descending from the sky, clutching a bottle of Rowlands' Kalydor, accompanied by a cherub. Victorian young ladies look on with understandable suprise, whilst old Father Time and a personification of Age recoil in horror. Rowlands' macassar oil and Odonto tooth powder is also promoted.
