British gambling scandal, known as the Tranby Croft affair of the late 19th century, showing Sir William Gordon-Cumming and Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) appearing in court. Scandal took place during a house party in September 1890, when Sir William Gordon-Cumming, a decorated lieutenant colonel in the Scots Guards, was accused of cheating at baccarat.
