Double page spread from the Illustrated London News covering the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Port Sunlight, the famous model village and progressive community built by William Hesketh Lever (Lord Leverhulme) to house his employees. During the visit, the King laid the foundation stone to the Lady Lever Art Gallery, which was built in memory of his wife to house Leverhulme's art collection for the benefit of the public.
