The scene of the Duke of York's wedding to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon on 26 April 1923; the altar of Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey had not been used as a venue for royal weddings for 650 years until it was chosen by Princess Patricia of Connaught for her wedding to Alexander Ramsay in 1919. After that, Princess Mary married Viscount Lascelles there followed by the Duke of York's wedding in 1923. The Duke of Kent, Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew have all been married at Westminster Abbey.
