Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, (4th daughter of Queen Victoria) giving the prizes of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at the annual meeting of the society in St James's Hall, London. The prizes were delivered to children who had written the best essays pleading for kind treatment of animals.
