A view looking east along the Cromwell Road, London, of the ruins of the building that had housed the Great Exhibition of 1862. In the background are buildings attached to the Gardens of the Horticultural Society.The site was being demolished and cleared before new construction work could begin on the building that would (and still does) house the Natural History Museum.
