The advance of the Russian Army into Poland. Scene in Rakov, a small Polish town of typical wooden houses. As the countryside was practically unoccupied by Polish forces these armoured columns advanced at a pace of forty miles a day. The Russian and German armies met at Brest-Litovsk in central Poland at this time to discuss the division of invaded Poland.
