The S.S. Canberra lies alongside Thompson's Wharf, Belfast, where she was built by the Harland and Wolff Company for the P & O Orient Lines. The liner was launched in March 1960 by Dame Pattie Menzies, the wife of the Australian Prime Minister. The ship is being fitted out before beginning her trials.
