The local salesmen and their wares on the deck of the P.&O. steamship 'Sumatra', during its stopover at Port Said, 1875. Wherever a P.&O. steamer paused during a voyage, it would be likely that local salesmen would come out to the ship and attempt sales to the ship's passengers.
