Description | Satirical cartoon of Kaiser Wilhelm II, WW1 |
Details |
The Little Tin God, satirical cartoon of Kaiser Wilhelm II at the start of the First World War. He is shown with six arms, like a Hindu god, holding various weapons in his hands, and sits with a Holy Bible open on his lap. The unlikely word, Peace, appears on a banner over his head. On the plinth are the words: Gott Mit Uns? Ich BIN Gott (God with us? I AM God), and on another banner below: The sword has been thrust into my hand.
