Swimming pool scene from the film 'Roadhouse' based on the play by Walter Hackett and directed by Maurice Elvey. The play and the film, starring Gordon Harker and Violet Loraine, were inspired by the popular phenomenon of the roadhouse or out-of-town club during the early 1930s. In this case, the ancient 'Angel Inn' becomes the 'Angel Face Roadhouse' with plenty of fun facilities catering to 'young moderns'.
