Description Scott Polar Expedition 1910 - 1912 - Earth Shadow
Details

An earth shadow from Mount Erebus on Antarctica, cast on the clouds and seen during the ill-fated Scott polar expedition of 1910 - 1912. Taken from a point close to the headquarters camp at Cape Evans, Mount Erebus, the active volcano of the Ross Island is seen casting a shadow on the clouds. Taken by Mr F. Debenham, geologist to the expedition.
