Description | Second British action in Narvik harbour by G. H. Davis |
Details |
The spearhead of the Royal Navy's second attack advancing on Narvik, putting the enemy destroyers to flight. The advance of Vice-Admiral Whitworth's force upon Narvik was preceded by super-destroyers of the Tribal class in line abreast. Behind them was the Warspite, sending 15-inch shells over them. Seen here are the trapped German destroyers turning to escape up the smaller fjords, where they were later hunted down.
