Sectional drawing of the 'Lusitania' showing the German U-boat responsible for the torpedo which sunk it in 18 minutes on May 7th 1915, with the loss of 1200 lives. The ILN headline captures the public's reaction to the disaster. With over 100 American victims on board, the incident also played a part in bringing the United States into World War I.
