Details

Nave of Selby Abbey taken after the fire of 20th October 1906. This 11th century Abbey, an extremely fine example of Norman architecture, was very badly damaged by the fire, which was believed to have started in a gas-engine which blew the organ. This organ had only been installed on the 28th September 1906.
