Details

Scene at the Senghenydd Colliery Disaster, near Caerphilly, Glamorgan, South Wales. 82 miners and 50 horses were killed in the disaster on 24th May 1901; only 1 man and 2 horses survived; the precursor to an even greater disaster there in 1913.
