Details

Shipyard of Green, Wigram and Green, between West India Dock and East India Dock, near the Isle of Dogs, East London. Showing two men making wooden tree-nails (trenails) and wedges, used as substitutes for metal nails or bolts. Because of their importance in ship building, they are made from strong oak with a straight and regular grain.
